Design Guru Day has been an integral part of the Institute of Design, JKLU. This event is 

celebrated in memory of Prof. M.P. Ranjan on his birthday, 9th November every year.

In 2021, Judy Frater was felicitated as the Design Guru, for her outstanding contributions to the field of design and crafts.

​

My classmate and I contributed to the event by creating an origami installation.

​

Judy's journey of uplifting and empowering the artisans is symbolised by the installation. 

The installation consisted of 26 birds with 25 birds representing the first batch of 25 artisans whom she began working with and one bird representing her.
